Abstract
This study aimed to measure the impact of an intensive reading program on
developing reading skills for students with learning disabilities at the
elementary level. The sample of the study consisted of (30) students with
learning difficulties, who were randomly assigned to two groups: (15) students
in an experimental group and (15) students in a controlled group.
In this study, the researcher used the experimental method. To achieve the
goals of the study and data collection, a test was designed to measure reading
skills consisting of (18) items, a scale to observe the level of reading skills, and
an intensive reading program.
The results showed that there are statistical differences related to the
experimental group. They were taught according to the intensive program in
developing reading skill among students with learning difficulties in the
elementary stage compared to the control group who were taught in the
traditional way.
Furthermore, the most important recommendation of the study is the
importance of adopting intensive programs to address reading difficulties due
to their significant impact
