Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of Palestinian universities in the development of scientific research and the reflection of this role on sustainable development in Palestine, the study relied on the descriptive analytical method, and the study sample consisted of (204) members of the teaching staff working at (Al-Quds University, Al-Aqsa University, Gaza University, Palestine University), and their number was (1214) members, Relying on the questionnaire tool and the SPSS statistical analysis program, the study found the following:
The Palestinian universities play a strong and good role in the development of scientific research in terms of developing laws, plans and internal policies with an arithmetic average of (3.75), developing the organizational and administrative structure of scientific research (3.64), developing the infrastructure for scientific research (3.58), developing and qualifying research cadres (3.46). Developing and diversifying sources of funding for scientific research (3.25).and Universities play a positive role in linking scientific research with society's problems and development needs. The study recommends that senior management in Palestinian universities pay more attention to developing scientific research, work better towards translating research plans and strategies into executive work programmers, and improve and strengthen the relationship and aspects of joint cooperation between Palestinian universities, the higher education system, and various economic sectors.
هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على دور الجامعات الفلسطينية في تطوير البحث العلمي وانعكاس هذا الدور على التنمية المستدامة في فلسطين، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (204) عضو من أعضاء هيئة التدريس العاملين في (جامعة القدس، جامعة الأقصى، جامعة غزة، جامعة فلسطين) والبالغ عددهم (1214) عضو، وبالاعتماد على أداة الاستبيان وبرنامج التحليل الاحصائي SPSS
